Brazilian Beach Bonanza

Saturday June 9th is the first of the summer theme nights in the Alpine Cafe - The Brazilian Beach Bonanza

There is a birthday (Akane, who is 21 again), Brazilian DJs, beers, cocktails and of course the BBQs will be fired up.

It's going to be a great way to unwind and there is still plenty of space on the canyoning/rafting and in the lodge if you are looking to make a weekend of it.

Hanage Course Check 2012

Early season, Fox is the canyon of choice but it won't be long before some of the other courses are available. The guides are heading out to see what state they are all in as the snow melts. Today it was up to Hanage which is set to open on June 20th.

It's looking green out there at the moments so the 40 minute hike in is stunning.

Crystal clear water and plenty of waterfalls.

Hanage waterfall gave this course its name.

Still a bit of snow around but the guides did their best to move it out of the way.

The good news is that the course is running great and will open on schedule on June 20th. If you haven't done Hanage yet it is an awesome course and very kid friendly too, being one of the top choices for the Family Tour.

Summer Events

Summer season is well under way on the rivers of Minakami and to go along with all the daytime fun, there is also a full program of night time shenanigans. DJs, bands, events, live sports, theme nights and just general silliness.

June Rafting Special for Ladies at Akagi

Half price half day rafting in the month of June down at the Akagi Base. It is an offer for ladies only though. The half day rafting trip is just 3,500JPY per lady and there are only 100 of these spots available but any day in June is OK. That price also includes an onsen ticket so after hurtling down the river you get a nice soak in the hot springs. You could even spend the money you save on a BBQ by the river with the famous Akagi Beef.

2012 Season T-shirts

The 2012 summer season is underway and our Canyons T-shirts have had an overhaul. We've got a couple of different designs in a host of bright colors.
